The area around Puerto Vallarta has a wealth of things to do and see. The natural settings to the south of the city offer rivers, rain forests and beautiful hidden beaches. The puebla of Mismaloya is the home of the filmset for Night of the Iguana and further inland you will find Eden, the filmset for the Arnold Swartzenegger movie, Predator. It is now converted into a restaurant and natural swimming area and waterfall, but still retaining many of the structures from the movie – well worth a visit to come face to face with the Predator himself!

Heading to the North of the city into Nuevo Vallarta and Bucerias, you leave the state of Jalisco and in a few minutes enter the state of Nayarit and the beautiful beaches of the Riviera Nayarit. Don’t forget to stop off at the restaurant in the recently constructed Marina de La Cruz de Huanacaxtle en route to Punta Mita, where you will find some of the best beaches any where in the world.

There is so much to tell so this page will be constantly updated. In fact, the pace of building and construction going on in and around Vallarta at the moment is unprecedented.

This means now there are even more bars and restaurants to choose from as well as more and more holiday and full time living properties than ever before. some of the older parts of the area have been totally changed.

Vallarta is now the home of VIDANTA WORLD an amazing project covering hundreds of hectares of theme parks, rides, dining, golfing and hotel options. It will be the home of the Cirque de Soleil in Mexico. Construction is now well advanced with many parts now open to enjoy. Added, to the various water parks already established in the area, there are no lack of options when looking for ways to pass your time here.
